that Ms. Dickson felt we each have by virtue of being alive and

1.
I have the right to state my own needs and set my own priorities.
2.
I have the right to be treated with respect as an intelligent,
capable and equal human being.
3.
I have the right to express my feelings.
4.
I have the right to express my opinions and values.
5.
I have the right to say yes or no for myself.
6.
I have the right to ask for what I want.
7.
I have the right to change my mind.
8.
I have the right to make mistakes.
9.
I have the right to decline responsibility for other people's
problems.
10.
I have the right to deal with others without being dependent on
them for approval.
Obviously,
folks - it's easier to give ourselves "permission" to assert some
of these rights than it is others. We each have our own individual
struggles on the Journey.
Weary
and Wary
Yet
I grow weary (and wary) of a common, prevailing attitude that says:
If
one is truly "spiritual and evolved," then one should have:
No
hint or expression of anger
No
aggression or asserting of our own will (i.e. Mars).
And
that anger (Mars) is always some sort of evil demon that must
be categorically exorcised from our lives...
Denying,
burying and/or stuffing inside
the warrior energies of Mars - almost guarantees
you'll be making plenty of regular stops at
The Mars Do Drop In Saloon (both in your dreams and in
the people you meet).

Transcending
The Ego
Further, didn't ya know that It's crucial to have a healthy, well
formed sense of "ego" (and who you are in this world), before
you can continue on in The Journey toward Wholeness. To
have an ultimate goal of transcending the "ego" and
into your "Higher Self" - you
first have to have an "ego" to transcend...
You've gotta have an ego, in order to transcend an ego.
