Question:
Did you design your own site?
Answer:
Yep! Me, myself and I wrote, designed and built this web site.
Question:
How'd you build your site? And any suggestions for someone building their own site?
Answer:
Geez, it really depends on what kind of site you're planning on building….
I started out with:
- a brand new Internet Service Provider that offered their customers a Home Page (Since then I've acquired a domain name.)
- a Netscape Gold Web Browser which featured an easy to learn html editor/designer (Since then I've moved up to Dreamweaver - which, if you can afford it, is the only way to fly!)
- and a long time urge to create my own site.
I had absolutely no "vision" about what it was going to look like or how much information it would eventually end up featuring. The site practically wrote and designed itself…
Yeah, I did a lot of "leg work". I did a million web searches…. learned copy and paste shortcuts for including some of the more advanced stuff that the Netscape Gold html editor couldn't create. But the design and content all just sorta fell into place.
Here are a few design ideas and tips about stuff I've learned (usually in hindsight and almost always the hard way)....
