Shock
The Monkey!
The
three outer planets -
Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - are
the Archetypal, Generational, and Transpersonal "SHATTERERS" of
the horoscope!
Years
ago, when astrologers first started looking at the effects of these
(relatively speaking) newly discovered planets - each one of these
outer planets was eventually labeled as being more or less "malefic" in
nature...
For
astrologers, the rule of thumb seemed to be: if you didn't understand
it or if it was upsetting - then it was "malefic" and "out
to do you no good."
Think
about it for a second... the ancient, medieval, and Renaissance astrologers
- working with the traditional 7 planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus,
Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) - only had to put up with two malefics
in the sky, Saturn and Mars. These two malefics were in a nice, neat,
and proportional balance with the two benefics, Jupiter and Venus.
If
we modern folks keep insistently choosing to treat Uranus, Neptune,
and Pluto as being malefics, then we've suddenly got a very unfriendly
universe out there.
Here's
The Scoop
Whether you're looking at natal
(birth) charts, transiting
planets, or a synastry comparison of charts - these
three outer planets when aspecting the luminaries [Sun and Moon], inner
planets [Mercury, Venus and Mars], social planets [Jupiter and Saturn]
- act
as messengers of the "gods" and as emissaries of
the universe.
Uranus,
Neptune, and Pluto bring us gifts of transformation and
connect our consciousness with
the archetypal "worlds beyond time and space." Uranus,
Neptune, and Pluto reflect the "inner-daemons" (an
internal guiding presence) that
are bent on shaking up and shattering unhealthly
and limited conceptions of who we are.
Uranus,
Neptune, and Pluto reflect archetypal energies that
insist on destroying our comfortable mental pictures regarding
the limitations of "time and space" reality.
So
my humble suggestion is
to resist believing "hook, line and sinker" all
those more traditional interpretations regarding
the energy of these three planets and/or
the traditional interpretations of aspects they make.
