Rule Number 7:
Now here's a warning which I inevitably see in all the books on dreams - the warning is that if you're highly neurotic or psychotic, then please don't interpret your dreams. I tend to think this warning is more of a liability disclaimer than anything else.

I'd like a show of hands of all the highly psychotic individuals reading this warning who have just now chosen to heed my warning and who will now not attempt to interpret your own dreams?

But just in case - if you're highly neurotic or psychotic, then please don't interpret your dreams.

Rule Number 8:
We're all slightly neurotic - so don't let the above warning scare you off.

Rule Number 9:
Treat your dreams as being sacred.... Don't "cast your pearls before swine." In other words, don't share them with just anyone. Our dreams are extraordinarily revealing of what's going on inside us.....

Rule Number 10:
Don't forget to apply Rule of Thumb One.... Learn all the rules, and then immediately forget them.
